Come along to the sea!
After an extensive renovation, the renovated muZEEum has reopened. Discover centuries of maritime history and its connection to the contemporary world. The exhibition consists of maritime masterpieces and archaeological findings that come to life through exciting interactive elements, an audio tour, and stunning video animations. The monumental city palace of merchant Lampsins in Vlissingen serves as the backdrop.

Each room own theme
The sea journey takes you through different spaces. Each with its own theme. Under the vaults of the Lampsins House you are the first to enter the activity of a shipyard. Meet the rope makers, coopers, sail makers and carpenters. They invite you to practice yourself with the tricks of their trade!

Ship models and masterpieces from the history of the Netherlands
Models of the flagship of dutch nay 'the Zeven Provinciën' (seven provinces) or slave ship D'Elisabet Galy are two masterpieces from the Canon of the Netherlands, which you can view extensively in the museum.

Underwater archaeology
In the muZEEum you will find unique treasures from the seabed. These objects come from two VOC ships: 't Vliegend Hert and De Rooswijk. The first sank nearby, off the coast of Vlissingen, the other near England. The archaeological finds are the last witnesses of life on board then.

For small and big adventurers
Children from the age of four receive their own Monster Book upon arrival. This allows them to follow the children's route in the museum and do fun viewing, listening, doing and thinking assignments. In the exhibition itself, children can of course also enjoy themselves with all the interactive assignments and digital games.

Visual audio tour
Through the free audio tour you will meet all kinds of people who will tell you their fascinating, personal sea stories. Not only do you hear, they become lifelike through beautiful video projections. These will be encounters you will not soon forget.
